Advocacy
DSP offer an Advocacy service for anyone (disabled or otherwise) who needs help to get their message across. If you find yourself speaking to legal aids, Government organisations, landlords etc. and feel that you are out of your depth DSP can help. We can offer a short consultation to discuss your requirements and then have a range of bespoke, practical, support options available for you to choose from.
When you might need Advocacy
Some typical reasons why Advocacy might be required could be:

When you struggle with social communication.

When you have a learning difficulty.

When you need help to make a decision.

When you need someone to write a letter or email for you.
Anytime you need a support network, Advocacy can be a great place to start.
How Does It Work?
Quite simply, we listen and provide professional guidance and support where required.
Each case is unique so our service is completely bespoke to the individual. Our aim is to take the stress and anxiety away from you by providing as much support as we can throughout your situation.
Advocacy can be on a one off, temporary or permanent basis depending on your needs.
Is there a cost for the service?
Advocacy is free for up 30 minutes. If you need more time we can confirm any additional costs dependent on your financial circumstances. We will not proceed without confirming you are happy with any charges first. As always we do not charge those who cannot afford to pay and only charge the bare minimum to keep us running.
